Welcome to the Freshman Students Coordination Office! Established in 2019 as part of a nationwide higher education reform, our office oversees the delivery of foundational common courses for all first-year students. These courses are designed to prepare students academically and help them transition smoothly into their respective colleges and departments.
Based on the new roadmap, Woldia University in 2019 enrolled 4,200 students who passed the national university entrance exam after completing grade 12. These students were admitted to fields in both the social and natural sciences, beginning their studies under the guidance of the Freshman Dean’s Office. In that time, the Office was led by one dean, two academic coordinators and two assistant registrars.
The office continues to dedicate itself to nurturing students who can drive impactful national transformations, equipped with competitive skills, innovative ideas, and scientific knowledge. We are committed to supporting students in their freshman year, fostering a strong academic foundation for their future success.

As per the new civil service structure, the office was changed to Freshman Coordinating Office since 2024. The office typically plays a crucial role in supporting first-year students during their transition to university life.
