About the Office

Academic Programs Directorate office contributes in achieving the vision of the University through mobilizing and organizing all academic staffs for effective & efficient implementation of teaching-learning activities.

The office of the Academic Programs Directorate has leadership responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating all educational programs of the institutes /colleges/schools. In assuming these responsibilities, the director work closely with the Vice President, Academic Deans, Directors, Coordinators, other administrators, and all the members of the institutes/colleges/schools.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Academic Programs Director shall be accountable to the Academic, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Service Vice President and has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Support and ensure the programs of study; prepare and supply qualified graduates in knowledge, skills, and attitudes on the basis of the existing needs of the country;
  • Foster the college’s academic programs into the future;
  • works with the deans and directors in development of the educational program, including the maintenance of standards and the evaluation of teachers;
  • participates in the planning of new facilities for the purposes of instruction and student services;
  • Develop and maintain a vision for educational growth of the University.
  • Administer all academic programs to provide quality education with overall consistency to meet the mission and Vision of the University.
  • Supervise, and evaluate all academic deans
  • understands and promotes the role and use of technology in the instructional environment;
  • advocates and promotes quality instruction, student success, integrated planning, and the expansion of Student Learning Outcomes to meet the educational needs of students in a diverse community college environment;
  • Coordinate with other Academic Directors and Coordinators in sharing educational and instructional ideas.
  • Facilitate to provide training to faculty and students on latest instructional technology and technique.
  • Schedule regular meetings with Directors, Deans, Coordinators, staffs and students.
  • Coordinate periodic academic program reviews and work with academic units in the review, study, and development of curriculum and in the improvement of instruction;
  • Develop and implement academic enhancement programs for students.
  • Convene and lead new program development and operations team to ensure cross-functional support for the development and implementation of new programs.
  • Ensure the employment and promotion of academic staff is consistent with the University’s rules and procedures;
  • Responsible for any other related activities in the academic affairs.
