Background of the Office

Established in 2016, the Exam Center has been entrusted with the task of preparing and providing assessment instruments for the university regular, continuing and Distance Learning (CODL), assisting the conventional mode of learning in the development and administration of up-to-standard assessment tools, providing training and services in measurement and evaluation, and pedagogy so as to help enhance the quality of teaching-learning and the Center also provides different placement and recruitment tests for local and international organizations.

The Exam Center has four units under it:

  1. Exam evaluation and training Unit,
  2. Exam administration Unit,
  3. Continuing and Distance education (CODE) module and exam duplication Unit
  4. National and International Testing Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise  exams of regular, continuing and Distance education;
  • Giving printing and duplication services of examinations and modules
  • Administering Comprehensive online Exams for the Regular, continuing  and Distance education Program;
  • Preparing and administering special purpose (screening) tests used for such purposes as employment and placement to off-campus customers (Organizations, Institutions, Governmental bodies, etc.);
  • Giving training on educational measurement and evaluation and related pedagogical problems to academic staff of the University, and others upon request;
  • Administering Comprehensive Degree Exit Exams, Entrance Exams for the Regular Program,grade12 Exams, GAT exams
  • Administering National and international tests such as competence tests, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL-iBT) and others
  • Preparing different articles on education and assessment and distributing them to the concerned stakeholders;
  • Assisting Elementary and high School in the preparation of exams and provision of pedagogical trainings;
  • Acting as a reservoir (exam bank) of examinations of the different courses given in the different departments.
  • Making sure that final examinations are duplicated after a quality-checkup process from the respective department
  • Conducting item analysis and trend evaluation of course exam items and giving feedback reports to the concerned academic bodies; and
  • Participating in community outreach programs.
