Woldia University convened a regular senate meeting today, addressing key academic and administrative agendas.
During the meeting, the promotion of two academic staff members—Dr. Abdurahman Ahmed Endris from the Department of English Language and Literature, specializing in TEFL, and Dr. Prashant Kumar Gangwar from the Department of Construction Technology Management—to the rank of Associate Professor was approved.
Additionally, the senate finalized the graduation approval for 258 students, comprising both first-degree and second-degree candidates. These students completed their programs through regular, extension, and summer modalities.
The senate also gave the green light for the establishment of two new undergraduate programs in Ge’ez and Arabic languages. Recognizing the growing demand among students, members advocated for conducting formal needs assessments and curriculum preparations to introduce new undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the future.
Furthermore, several other agendas were discussed, including amendments to institutional guidelines.
